NW Engineers Wins Tillamook Work

NW Engineers has been awarded the contract by Tillamook County to design the 3rd Street Road Improvement and storm drainage project in Tillamook, OR.  The project will include designing an upgrade to 3rd Street from rural road to arterial standards from Pine Street to Wilson River Loop, a distance of 5,230 feet.  The new design in the 60-foot right of way will include two 12-foot traffic lanes, bike lanes, parking on one side, and curb and gutter and sidewalks on both sides of the road.  Storm drainage improvements will include improving the vertical alignment of the road for better road drainage, adding new inlets and storm sewers, and adding stormwater detention and water quality facilities to meet all new regulations.  Improvements to the existing storm sewer system will also most likely be required.  The project began in July 2010 and design is scheduled to be completed in early 2011.  Funding sources for construction are currently being investigated.

Project was funded thruough and ODOT flexible funds grant.  Plans and specifications were revised as required by ODOT.  Project is scheduled for a spring 2012 bid opening.
